Join the 1850’s ladies at the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park Garden as they share how the whaling industry brought people from all over the world to New Bedford. The Ladies will introduce you to some of the people and cultures here in 19th century New Bedford.

1850s ladies, aka Ruth and Abby, is a living history program of New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park. It is a program used to educate the public and convey a sense of the everyday life of women in New Bedford during the prosperous whaling era.
